Magnesium Works Miracles!
Magnesium is a mineral that is important for normal bone structure in the body. It is a natural muscle relaxer, which immensely helps with anxiety. It’s a nervous system relaxant and mineral that assists with fear, irritability, and restlessness. We hold on to so much tension within our muscles, and taking a Magnesium supplement is a healthy and easy way to create calmness.
The recommended dietary allowance for magnesium is 310–420 mg for adults depending on age and gender. If you require a supplement, dosage recommendations can vary depending on your needs, such as to improve constipation, sleep, muscle cramps or depression. Most studies found positive effects with daily doses starting at 125mg and slowly increasing until desired effect. While it is safe to consume up to 2,500 mg a day, a gradual increase is recommended when introducing a new supplement such as Magnesium.
Some researchers even claim that taking magnesium increases serotonin (happiness or relaxation hormone) production in the brain. They also believe that magnesium is good for reducing inflammation in internal organs. This may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and improve digestion/bowel movement. Integrative medical experts commonly recommend taking a magnesium supplement and additionally using Epsom salt baths (which is magnesium sulfate) to patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and cold intolerance.
